
Bac Giang lychee is gradually affirming its position as a key agricultural product in Vietnam. It has received positive reception from domestic and foreign markets. In addition, it has expanded exports to the most demanding markets in the world.
Lychee is not only a fruit but has become an agricultural symbol of Bac Giang province. This region has typical soil and climate conditions and traditional farming experience. As a result, lychee here has a special flavor, sweet, cool, crispy and fragrant, unmistakable from any other place.

Over the years, Bac Giang province has steadfastly pursued the path of improving quality and building the lychee brand. Most of the lychee cultivation areas here follows Vietgap and Globalgap standards. Also, the province has developed labels and QR codes to trace origin. In addition, Bac Giang has strengthened trade promotions for both domestically and internationally.
Currently, Bac Giang lychee has been its presence to more than 30 countries and territories. They include the highest standards, such as Japan, the EU, the US, and China.
During the harvest season (May – June), thousands of tons of Bac Giang lychees are consumed through diverse distribution channels. They include wholesale markets, supermarket chains, e-commerce and official exports. In particular, in 2024, Vietnam’s lychee exports to Japan increased by nearly 20% compared to the previous year. This figure showed the increasing trust of demanding markets in the quality of Vietnamese lychees.

Not only abroad, in the domestic market, the brand “Luc Ngan Lychee” is also increasingly widely recognized. Supermarket systems such as AEON, VinMart, Big C … all prioritize displaying Bac Giang lychee products each season. Through communication activities such as livestream, trial, introduction of origin, Bac Giang lychee reputation and value have gradually enhanced.
In the continuous effort to improve quality and expand the market, the participation of management agencies and export businesses of lychee is a vital factor. Mr. Toan, a local official shared: “We determine that no one can go alone on the path to improve Vietnamese agricultural products. For lychee to truly reach far and sustainably, we need strong support from functional departments, business community, and domestic and foreign experts. Hopefully this year’s lychee season will be a season of solidarity, of cooperation to bring long-term value to the people and to Bac Giang lychee.”

The problem of consuming agricultural products in general and lychee in particular cannot stop at output. Bac Giang is aiming to build a sustainable consumption ecosystem. It is from planning growing areas, standardizing production, investing in preliminary processing, preservation, logistics to expanding markets to diversifying consumption channels. The aim is to increase the economic value of Vietnam’s lychee.
Along with that, the application of digital transformation, e-commerce, and creative communication is opening up new directions for traditional products. Bac Giang lychee, from a seasonal fruit, is now gradually becoming a symbol of smart agriculture and a national brand.
The vitality and brand of Bac Giang lychee is a vivid proof that Vietnamese agricultural products can reach out to the world if there is a methodical strategy, good product quality, and the attention of departments, branches, and the cooperation of the business community.
