Hai Duong stands out as the country’s top region for Vietnamese fresh carrot cultivation. In which, Duc Chinh commune accounts for the largest percentage. Currently, the average carrot yield reaches more than forty tons per hectare. The commune has planned nine zones of carrot cultivation with a total area of 329 hectares.
For many years, carrots have been a key agricultural product of Hai Duong Province. Local farmers have applied high technology on large-scale cultivation, primarily on fertile alluvial soil along the Thai Binh river.

Local farmers mainly grow Vietnamese fresh carrot in districts such as Cam Giang, Nam Sach, Chi Linh, and Ninh Giang. In which, Duc Chinh commune dominates with the largest area, which stands out as the carrot hub of the province.
A local governor said: “The carrot harvest season is just about three months away. Only this land produces such delicious and distinct carrots. Perhaps it’s due to the soil, climate, and terrain that have created a Vietnam’s carrot brand. Moreover, carrot farming brings high economic value to local farmers, significantly improving their livelihoods.”
The soil here is enriched and nourished by alluvial deposits from major rivers. In addition, the region enjoys a temperate climate with cool winters. This unique combination makes Vietnamese fresh carrot distinctive quality and flavor, with a crisp texture and natural sweetness.
Currently, the province maintains around 1,400 hectares of carrot cultivation, producing over 70,000 tons per season. In which, 100% of the Vietnamese carrot area follows safety standards such as Vietgap and Globalgap. Sowing usually takes place from early September to early October. In the meanwhile, the main harvest season spans from January to March each year.

As a result, they helped enhance the value and brand recognition of Hai Duong’s agricultural products, especially carrots and lychees. They also fostered stronger linkages, consumption, and expansion of export markets.
