Cumulatively, in the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam’s coffee exports reached 1.23 million tons, worth $6.98 billion. It went up 11.1% in volume and a strong 61.4% increase in value compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, it was an impressive growth amid global economic and supply chain instability.

Vietnam’s average coffee export price continued to maintain a high level, estimated at $5,679 per ton in September 2025. It was up 3.8% from August 2025 and 1.7% compared to September 2024.

Notably, processed coffee is becoming a “bright spot” in the industry by maintaining growth momentum across most product categories. In the first 8 months of 2025, processed coffee exports reached $1.18 billion. It showed an increase of up to 63.5% compared to the same period in 2024.

The United States was one of the key markets of Vietnam’s coffee exports. Notably, Vietnam maintained its position as the fourth-largest coffee supplier. In the first 7 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 70.6 thousand tons, worth $412.4 million to the United States. Although volume slightly decreased by 12.7%, turnover increased by as much as 49%. It indicated a trend toward higher export value rather than relying solely on volume.

Overall, Vietnam’s coffee industry is transforming toward a more modern and sustainable direction. Growth in export value, quality improvement, and expansion of processed coffee exports are positive signals. However, to maintain competitive advantages, the sector needs to continue investing in processing capacity, quality standardization, national brand development, and leveraging free trade agreements to expand markets.
