Vietnam’s carrots for export
In previous years, Hai Duong’s carrot products were mainly for export. However, in recent years, many countries have strengthened controls on food safety and quality for agricultural products, including Vietnamese carrots.
Therefore, to ensure that the province’s carrots meet export standards, there are several necessary solutions:
Strengthening communication to help businesses and carrot producers understand the importance of Vietnam’s carrot for export. They directly affect the income of local farmers and exporting companies of Vietnamese carrot. Additionally, raising awareness of the plant quarantine regulations of importing countries for Hai Duong’s carrot products, so that producers and businesses comply with these regulations.

Guiding farmers on proper carrot care, especially in pest and disease control, to protect yield and ensure carrots meet export standards. In particular, emphasizing that farmers should only harvest Vietnam’s carrot for export after ensuring a minimum 30-day isolation period from the last pesticide application.
After this period, limiting pesticide use on Vietnam’s carrot for export as much as possible. If necessary, farmers use only biological pesticides, or those with short residual times. Absolutely avoid using chemicals like Hexaconazole, Tricyclazole, Difenoconazole, Propiconazole, Paclobutrazol.
Instructing pesticide agents in the area to commit to selling pesticides according to the instructions from specialized agencies. Regularly checking and strictly handling any stores/agents that violate these guidelines.

Instructing the People’s Committees of communes that produce carrots to only certify the origin of carrots for export when they are grown within the commune’s area. They will be responsible for certification in case of any issues related to traceability.
Directing exporting businesses of carrots to sign contracts for product linkage and guarantee supply at the beginning of the season. This ensures legal binding to better manage the carrot-growing areas for export. Advising businesses to proactively take carrot samples for pesticide residue testing before purchasing, especially for areas supplying carrots for export orders to markets like Japan, South Korea.
