
In 2024, Hoa Binh province’s economic growth rate reached 9.6%. Export turnover exceeded $2 billion. Notably, in the first three months of 2025, economic growth hit 12.76%, the highest ever recorded. Significantly, the agricultural sector has become an important pillar. Vietnamese agricultural exports achieved breakthrough development, contributing crucially to the province’s sustainable economic growth.
Hoa Binh’s agricultural products have reached to many international markets. In 2024, the total export value exceeded 555 billion VND. This was a major success not all mountainous provinces have been able to achieve.
Hoa Binh province has identified the goal of orienting agricultural production towards export to increase economic value. With its existing potentials and advantages, the province has proactively promoted trade promotion activities and product quality improvement. By participating in exhibitions, the province has actively connected with foreign enterprises to support local companies in expanding markets.

Thanks to the efforts of all parties, many products such as red pomelo, fresh sugarcane, and fresh bamboo have been successfully exported. This has helped enhance the competitiveness of agricultural products and promote safe production. In addition, it has developed efficient production chains meeting Vietgap standards, thereby increasing farmers’ incomes.
In 2023, the province sucessfully exported the first shipment of 20 tons of fresh sugarcane to the United States. The raw materials came from Tan My commune, Lac Son district. This laid the groundwork for enterprises to become familiar with Hoa Binh’s agricultural commodities.
In 2024, dozens of enterprises invested and processed key agricultural products, such as oranges, pomelos, timber, and spices. Hoa Binh’s agricultural exports have reached to many markets, including demanding ones.
Since the beginning of 2025, there have been eight exporting facilities with a total output exceeding 12,509 tons. Its value reached 93 billion VND. Among them, three forestry export enterprises exported 12,209 tons of products worth nearly 79 billion VND. Also, five agricultural export facilities exported 300 tons generating about 14.18 billion VND.

Notably, the province exported 66 tons of bamboo shoots to the Netherlands, Japan, and South Korea. There were 136.7 tons of pickled vegetables exported to the Japanese market.
By taking advantage of free trade agreements, many Vietnamese agricultural exports like honey and glass noodles have appeared in the UK market.
According to an export company of Vietnamese agricultural products, Hoa Binh’s agricultural products have great export potential. In 2025, the company plans to sell over 500 tons of agricultural products. Alongside boosting exports to traditional markets, it will expand to new markets such as China, Thailand, and Islamic countries.
Mr. Nhuan, a provincial official, said the agricultural sector aims to reach an export turnover of $138 million by 2030. They will focus on major markets such as the US, EU, UK, China, Japan, and South Korea.
To achieve this goal, the most important thing is to improving product quality to increase competitiveness. Also, Hoa Binh has developed support programs for production and efficiently used all resources. In addition, the province has strengthened trade promotion, supported production areas with planting codes, and trained enterprises on import regulations.
In 2025, the province targets a growth rate of 4.3% for agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. Accordingly, the production values target to reach about 14.5 trillion VND. The focus will be on developing key crops with high export value and building raw material zones for forestry. In addition, the province should strengthen linkage and consumption of agricultural products and stabilize sustainable local economic development.
