There are 15 enterprises that has been to Japan to participate in the Tokyo International Gift Show. This event presented an excellent opportunity for Vietnam’s handicrafts to make a strong impression on the international market.

The Tokyo International Gift Show is an annual trade fair specializing in handicrafts and gifts, held every September. It is one of the largest and most prestigious international trade shows in the world, organized by Business Guide-Sha, Inc.

This year’s exhibition, held from September 3 to 5, 2025, covered an area of 300,000 square meters. It featured nearly 3,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and territories. The event attracted around 50,000 visitors, including major importers from Japan and other countries around the world.

This was a valuable opportunity for Vietnam’s handicrafts to access international markets. Therefore, Hanoi selected Vietnamese handicraft enterprises with export potential and strong capabilities to participate. These businesses are capable of direct negotiation and transactions with international buyers.

As a result, Hanoi’s booth featured15 enterprises showcasing handicrafts, gifts, and traditional village products. They include lacquerware, ceramics, bamboo and rattan wares, embroidery, and silk fabrics. During the event, the Hanoi booth welcomed around 2,500 visitors and international buyers. They came to explore products and engage in business matchmaking.

A representative from a participating comany stated that the international fair allowed them to promote and introduce their products. In addition, it also provided opportunities to connect with partners and seek new customers.

It was also a chance to showcase the traditional Bat Trang ceramic art, enhance brand recognition, and add value to the craft village. Through this event, the company hopes to boost exports of high-quality handicrafts. Also, it hope to contribute to the sustainable preservation and development of Vietnam’s traditional crafts.

To best support the participating handicraft enterprises, the government covered 100% of booth rental costs. Specifically, they include space rental, design, and overall decoration.

“This is a practical incentive policy that demonstrates the government’s commitment to accompanying and facilitating the growth and international integration of craft village enterprises,” stated a representative from the goovernment

Since 2018, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade (the organizing body of the Hanoi Gift Show) and the organizers of the Tokyo International Gift Show have established a cooperative relationship. Accordingly, both parties have agreed to support each other in organizing and promoting their respective events to international audiences.

This collaboration has become an important promotional channel. It helped to attract a large number of enterprises, especially Japanese and international importers, to the annually held Hanoi Gift Show in October.

According to the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the city aims to significantly increase the export value of Vietnamese handicraft products by 2030 through promotional activities. At the same time, it also supports the sustainable preservation and development of traditional craft villages.

Participation in this event plays an essential role in supporting Vietnam’s handicraft enterprises in promoting their products. It also helps connect with buyers, and boost exports to the Japanese market. This is a strategic move to enhance competitiveness and expand the export value of Vietnam’s handicrafts.
