
According to the Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade, the output of lychee harvested since the beginning of the season has reached over 30.1 thousand tons. Thanks to superior fruit quality, prices of early-season lychees have remained at a high level, and consumption has been very smooth.
Of the total more than 30.1 thousand tons of lychee harvested, early-ripening varieties (mainly U Hong and U Trứng) accounted for the majority, with about 29.9 thousand tons. The remaining 238 tons were Thanh Hà hybrid lychee.

Early-season lychees
Currently, most early-season lychees have reached the final stage of harvest. At the same time, the locality is preparing for the main-season lychee harvest. Regarding consumption, the domestic market recorded nearly 17.4 thousand tons, accounting for about 57.7% of the total harvested output.
Export activities have also achieved positive results, with more than 12.7 thousand tons shipped abroad. This year, export markets for early-season lychees continue to expand and diversify. Among them, China remains the main export market, with nearly 12.6 thousand tons.
In addition, Vietnamese lychee has also been available in many high-standard markets. Specifically, they include Canada, the European Union (EU), Japan, the United States, Australia, and Thailand.

According to local authorities, although this year’s lychee output has decreased due to weather impacts. However, according to an Vietnamese fruit company, the fruit quality has improved. The fruits have better appearance, more uniform color, and better flavor.
Thanks to this quality factor, lychee prices have remained stable at a high level. The average prices range between 60,000 and 70,000 VND/kg, which are significantly higher than in previous years. Smooth consumption has helped growers achieve good incomes.
In 2026, total lychee production in Bắc Ninh is likely to reach around 125 thousand tons. Of this, early-season lychees are likely to reach 50 thousand tons. In the meanwhile, main-season lychee is projected at 75 thousand tons. The harvest period will last from May 25 to the end of July.
