According to a Vietnam’s export company of mangoes, the price of Vietnamese mangoes exported to the U.S. increased but the volume remained low. In addition, shipping time was long, which took around 40 days. This left little time for sales of Vietnam’s mangoes. This was why Vietnam’s businesses found it difficult to increase Vietnamese mango exports to the U.S.
In addition, Vietnamese mangoes faced strong competition from Mexico and Peru in terms of price, quality, and transit time.

Dried mango from Vietnam
To increase the volume and value of Vietnam’s mango exports, Vietnam should develop longer-term mango preservation technologies. Moreover, Vietnam’s export businesses should collaborate with farmers and orchards to establish large-scale growing areas that meet the standards and quality requirements of the U.S. market, enabling the export of mangoes at higher prices.
