From November 18, 2025 to December 17, 2025, Taiwan will implement enhanced sampling inspections. During this period, it will not reduce the inspection rate for vegetables from Vietnam. They include radishes, headless cabbage, and other fresh or chilled vegetables belonging to the brassica (cruciferous) family.
The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) has recently issued a notice. Accordingly, this notice concerns the strengthening of inspections for vegetables exported from Vietnam to Taiwan.

Vegetables from Vietnam
The notice will last from November 18, 2025 to December 17, 2025 (counted from the date of importation). Accordingly, Taiwan will implement enhanced sampling inspections of vegetables from Vietnam.. At the same time, it will not reduce the inspection rate for food products.
These products include radishes, headless cabbage, and other fresh or chilled vegetables of the brassica family imported from Vietnam. These products are classified under HS code 0704.90.90.90.2, with the English description “Other kohlrabi, kale and similar edible brassica, fresh or chilled.”
The reason is that over the past six months, three consignments of vegetables from Vietnam failed to meet quarantine and inspection requirements. As a result, Taiwan decided to strengthen control measures.

The TFDA’s notice also states that before the above-mentioned enhanced inspection measure expires, an assessment will be conducted. If the assessment determines that an extension is necessary, TFDA will make an announcement on its official website and will not issue separate notifications.
Since the beginning of the year, Taiwan has been affected by multiple typhoons. Meanwhile, vegetables from Vietnam in general, are currently among the products performing well in exports to this market.
Based on TFDA’s warning, Vietnamese exporting enterprises should proactively study Taiwan’s quarantine and inspection regulations. This is necessary in order to control the quality of exported products. It also helps avoid losses resulting from the destruction or re-export of shipments that fail import inspections.
