Tay Ninh province is strengthening trade promotion activities and supporting businesses in connecting with international buyers. It is also expanding export opportunities for Vietnamese traditional handicrafts.

In recent years, Tay Ninh Province’s wood and handicraft manufacturing sector has been gradually developing its market. It focuses on increasing added value and promoting environmentally friendly products.

According to the province, many Vietnamese handicraft enterprises have invested in technological improvements and diversified their product designs. As a result, they have proactively participated in trade promotion activities, aiming to expand export markets.

Handicraft products made from wood, bamboo, rattan, sedge, water hyacinth, plastic fibers, and other materials are increasingly establishing their position. Accordingly, they are gaining recognition in the international market.

Mr. Tran Dang Tien is the Deputy Director of the Tay Ninh Department of Industry and Trade. He said that in recent years, the province has strongly oriented trade promotion efforts toward developing foreign trade. Also, they have also focused on connecting Vietnamese traditional handicrafts with international markets.

They are effective promotion channels that enable local businesses to directly access international buyers and expand export markets. Therefore, they can gradually integrate more deeply into global supply chains.

With this orientation, Tay Ninh is one of the leading localities in supporting enterprises to participate in international trade events. As a result, this helps enhance competitiveness and boost export activities of Vietnamese traditional handicrafts.

Most recently, the province supported Vietnamese enterprises in participating in the Vietnam International Furniture and Home Accessories Fair – VIFA EXPO 2026. The event was held from March 8 to 11, 2026 at the WTC Expo International Exhibition Center in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is one of the largest and most prestigious trade promotion events for Vietnamese handicraft sector. It features more than 650 enterprises with around 2,500 standard booths. In addition, it attracts the participation of numerous international importers, distributors, and corporations.

At VIFA EXPO 2026, the province organized a shared provincial pavilion with a scale of six standard booths. It directly supported four representative enterprises in the wood and handicraft sector to showcase and promote their products. It also helped them connect with business partners.

In addition to covering booth rental costs, Tay Ninh province also organized the design and setup of a unified exhibition space featuring the province’s shared brand identity. As a result, it created a professional and eye-catching display area at the fair for Vietnamese traditional handicrafts.

Furthermore, wood and handicraft enterprises were supported in participating in business matchmaking programs. They also met importers and potential partners within the framework of the event.

Thanks to thorough preparation, the participation of Tay Ninh’s wood and handicraft enterprises in the fair achieved many positive outcomes. During the event, the province’s pavilion attracted around 5,000 visitors.

It also recorded approximately 180 business connections and exchanges between enterprises and both domestic and international partners. This represents an average of about 45 connections per participating company.

“This is a very positive signal, opening up prospects for signing memoranda of understanding and commercial contracts in the near future. In particular, this is especially true with importers from potential markets for Vietnamese traditional handicrafts,” said Mr. Tien.

According to Mr. Tien, one of the standout and consistent highlights at the trade promotion events in which Tay Ninh participates is the well-organized, consistently designed pavilion. It carries the distinctive identity of the locality. This contributes to enhancing the professional image of Vietnam’s handicraft enterprises in the eyes of international partners.

Through product showcases, promotional activities, and business matchmaking efforts, many Tay Ninh enterprises have initially established cooperative relationships. They have also connected with international importers and distribution networks for Vietnamese traditional handicraft.

Participating businesses also highly appreciated the support from the province and the Department of Industry and Trade. They consider it practical, strong, and timely assistance that helps reduce participation costs while improving the effectiveness of trade promotion activities.
