In the first eight months of 2025, Vietnamese coffee exports reached $6.4 billion. This amount went up 59% thanks to strong demand and limited supply.

According to estimates from the Ministry of Agriculture, Vietnam exported around 95,000 tons of coffee in August, earning over $429 million. In total, during the first eight months of 2025, Vietnamese coffee exports reached 1.2 million tons. The export value reached $6.42 billion, an increase of 59.1% compared to the same period last year.

The main driver was the surge in average export prices. Currently, the export price of Vietnam’s coffee was at around $5,580 per ton, up nearly 46.5% year-on-year. Additionally, supply decline from Brazil and Indonesia, which are two of the world’s largest coffee producers, due to the impact of El Niño weather conditions.

In the meanwhile, demand in Europe and North America remains strong. Roasters, especially in Germany, Italy, and Spain, have significantly ramped up purchases. As a result, it made these three markets the largest destinations for Vietnamese coffee exports, accounting for nearly 30% of total export value.

Not only has Vietnamese coffee maintained steady growth in traditional markets, but it has also significantly expanded into new ones. In Mexico, the export value in the first seven months of the year surged 91 times, reflecting the growing global trend of Robusta coffee consumption. Conversely, China, which has seen rapid growth in coffee consumption in recent years, recorded the lowest increase, at just 11.7%.

Asia remains the largest consumer region, making up over 43% of total Vietnamese coffee exports. The following markets are the Americas and Europe. The United States, China, and Japan continue to be Vietnam’s three largest export markets for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products.

Vietnamese coffee exports remain record-high prices and stable demand in key markets.  Coffee is considered the most promising agricultural export this year, helping sustain Vietnam’s agricultural export growth despite stagnation in several other sectors.
