In general, the overall picture of agricultural exports has many bright spots. However, certain product groups still face specific difficulties affecting growth rates.

Take the rice sector as an example. The export volume in the past nine months reached 7 million tons and $3.55 billion. These figures showed a 0.1% increase in volume but an 18.5% decrease in value compared to the same period in 2024. The average export price of rice was $509 per ton, also down 18.6% compared to the same period in 2024.

For Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports, the main market is China, accounting for 57.9% of export value. However, compared to the same period in 2024, the export value of fruits and vegetables to this market decreased by 9.3%.

At the regular press conference on the morning of October 6, experts shared that despite many challenges from natural disasters and diseases in recent months, agricultural exports have maintained strong growth momentum. The market structure has also shown positive changes.

These results were achieved thanks to the regular and close guidance of the government. Especially important was the active involvement of local authorities at both levels, and the proactiveness of businesses and farmers.

According to experts, if the average export value growth rate is maintained as in recent months, agricultural exports by the end of 2025 could reach $67 billion. Under more favorable conditions, this figure could exceed $70 billion.

“No matter how difficult it gets, the Ministry still believes that with the attention and direction of the Government and Prime Minister, flexible, timely, and resolute management, and strict implementation, the agricultural sector will achieve the agricultural export target for 2025,” Deputy Minister Mr. Tien emphasized.
