Recently, LuLu Group International’s second charter flight carrying 98 tonnes of Vietnamese agri-food exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) successfully departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The shipment marks another step forward in promoting Vietnam’s agricultural production. It also supports efforts to expand exports to the highly promising Middle Eastern market.
As geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to disrupt international shipping routes, logistics costs have increased. They have also created uncertainty over delivery schedules. As a result, maintaining dedicated charter flights for Vietnamese agricultural products has become increasingly important.
These flights provide a timely logistics solution to ensure a stable supply of goods for distribution networks in UAE. They also demonstrate the ability of Vietnamese food exporters to adapt quickly to disruptions in global trade.
This is particularly significant for fresh agricultural products, where transit time is critical to preserving quality and freshness. The continued operation of charter flights has significantly reduced shipping times and minimized risks associated with transshipment. It has also helped maintain a reliable supply chain between Vietnam and the Middle East.. Demand for high-quality Vietnamese agri-food exports continues to grow across the region.

Vietnamese agri-food exports
At a time when many international businesses remain cautious because of regional instability, LuLu Group International has continued to expand its purchases of Vietnamese agri-food exports. This reflects the strong confidence of Middle Eastern importers in Vietnam’s production capacity, quality standards, and ability to fulfill large orders.
This strengthens the position of Vietnamese products within one of the region’s leading retail networks. It also creates positive momentum for exports to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets as a whole.
M.A. Yusuff Ali is the Chairman and Managing Director of LuLu Group International. Under his direction, the company launched its second charter flight to transport Vietnamese agricultural exports to the UAE. LuLu Group International is the global retail giant behind the renowned LuLu Hypermarket chain.
The flight was operated by Ho Chi Minh City-based MAY Exports Vietnam under the direct supervision and coordination of Mirash Basheer. It carried 98 tonnes of Vietnam’s agricultural products and successfully departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport on May 10, 2026. The flight reaffirmed the growing interest of the UAE and the broader Middle Eastern market in the quality, reliability, and supply capacity of Vietnamese products.
LuLu Group International’s continued expansion of procurement activities highlights the Middle Eastern market’s growing confidence in Vietnamese fresh exporters. The company’s operation of dedicated charter flights for Vietnamese products further underscores this confidence. The initiative also creates new opportunities to boost agricultural production and expand exports to this highly promising region.

Vietnamese green lime: one of the most popular items of Vietnam in UAE
Beyond its commercial significance, the latest cargo flights further reinforce Vietnam’s increasingly important role in the global agricultural supply chain. Maintaining a stable flow of Vietnamese agri-food exports despite a challenging geopolitical environment demonstrates the proactive approach and operational flexibility of Vietnamese food enterprises. It also highlights effective coordination between Vietnamese exporters and major international retail and distribution groups.
The successful launch of the second charter flight also raises expectations for the establishment of regular cargo routes between Vietnam and the Middle East in the future. Such a development would provide a solid foundation for further increasing agricultural export turnover. It would also enhance the global reputation of Vietnamese agri-food exports and diversify export markets. This is particularly important amid an increasingly volatile global trading environment.
