Hai Duong carrots for export are underway with good prospects. The quality of carrots remains high, which receives positive feedback from buyers. In Duc Chinh commune, Cam Giang district, the production atmosphere is vibrant. Processing facilities began operating on the third day of the Lunar New Year. There are trucks loaded with carrots line the roads, waiting for processing.

At the South Korea-funded agricultural processing facility, workers sort and pack carrots. The facility processes more than 100 tons daily. Ms. Huyen, from the Duc Chinh Agricultural Service Cooperative, said carrot quality is an advantage. “We purchase carrots at 5,000 VND per kilogram,” she noted. On average, 50 tons are exported daily to markets like South Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand. However, cold storage facilities meet only 70% of preservation needs.

Mr. Thuat, Cooperative Director, stated the commune grows more than 360 hectares of carrots. Averagely, yields reach about 41–42 tons per hectare. There are six local facilities focus on processing and exporting carrots in the commune. After processing and packing in cartons, we sell fresh carrots at 7,000 VND per kilogram. Key markets of Hai Duong carrots for export include South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. Despite the quality, increasing production raises distribution challenges.

Ms. Hanh, Party Secretary of Duc Chinh, said the commune closely monitors carrot distribution. Also, Authorities connect with businesses to ensure smooth sales. In addition, it is necessary to establish a carrot trade promotion conference to enhance consumption. Officials seek further support from the provincial agriculture department.

Carrots are a key crop in Hai Duong, which provide high incomes for farmers. The agriculture department supports production and explores export markets. Ms. Kiem, Deputy Director, said the department collaborates with cooperatives to guide production. After concerns from South Korea about pests, authorities confirmed Hai Duong carrots are pest-free.

By January 2023, South Korea reopened its market to Vietnamese carrots. As a result, carrot exports are smooth, with shipments meeting quality standards. The agricultural sector enforces strict controls on pests and pesticide residues. Businesses are necessary to maintain high standards during sorting and packing.

Hai Duong has 1,000 hectares of carrots under intensive cultivation, yielding 80,000 tons annually. In which, there are more than 300 hectares following Vietgap standards. While 20% is consumed domestically, 80% is exported to markets like South Korea and Japan
