
Alongside rice, in 2025 a wide range of Vietnamese agriculture products are also available to ASEAN. These included coffee, fruits and vegetables, pepper, and others, with several items recording impressive growth.
According to data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in 2025 Vietnam earned USD 3.61 billion from agricultural exports to ASEAN. Compared with the same period last year, this figure declined by 32.9% year on year.
Rice remained the largest agricultural export item to ASEAN countries last year, with export value reaching USD 1.94 billion. However, rice export turnover recorded a sharp decline. It fell by 50.5% compared to the previous year.
In contrast to this downward trend, coffee exports to ASEAN posted strong growth of 24.6% year on year. Export value rose from USD 859 million in 2024 to USD 1.07 billion in 2025. Cashew nut exports also increased by 35.8% year on year to USD 109 million.
Exports of cassava and cassava products reached USD 22.4 million, up 37.6% year on year. Meanwhile, pepper exports surged 51.3% year on year to USD 126 million.
Meanwhile, exports of fruits and vegetables to the region declined by 20.4% year on year to USD 332 million. Tea exports also fell by 16.4% year on year to USD 126.6 million.

Vietnamese agriculture products
Across markets, the Philippines continued to lead with export value reaching USD 1.9 billion. However, this marked a sharp decline of 35.5% compared to the previous year.
Vietnamese agriculture products to Malaysia also fell by 10.1% year on year to USD 598.7 million. At the same time, exports to Indonesia plunged 75.9% year on year to USD 235.9 million.
Exports of agricultural products to Singapore edged down slightly by 5.2% from a year earlier to USD 156 million. Shipments to Laos declined 17.5% year on year to USD 11.9 million. Meanwhile, exports to Myanmar dropped 53.4% year on year to USD 5.01 million.
Meanwhile, agricultural export turnover to Thailand rose 12.4% compared to 2024, reaching USD 608 million. At the same time, exports to Brunei increased 10% year on year to USD 0.1 million.
