Vietnamese cashew nuts generate billions of USD in export revenue each year. As a result, Vietnam has maintained its position as the world’s leading cashew processor and exporter for 19 consecutive years. The largest “cashew capital” is located in Đồng Nai Province.

According to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first four months of 2026, Vietnam exported around 217,000 tons of cashew kernels, earning nearly USD 1.5 billion. This represents an increase of almost 10% compared to the same period last year. Cashew nuts continue to be one of Vietnam’s key agricultural export commodities, generating billions of dollars in value.

Currently, Vietnam has maintained its position as the world’s number one cashew processing and exporting country for 19 consecutive years. It accounts for approximately 80% of the global cashew kernel export market share. In 2026, Vietnamese cashew enterprises aim to sustain export turnover at around USD 5 billion.

Information presented at the Scientific Conference on Sustainable Cashew Industry Development for the 2026–2030 period shows that the Đồng Nai Province region, including the former Bình Phước Province area, is Vietnam’s key cashew production and processing hub. The region plays a central role in the development of Vietnamese cashew nuts.

The entire region has about 176,000 hectares of cashew cultivation. It supplies nearly 300,000 tons of raw cashew annually. In addition to having a large raw material base, Đồng Nai Province is also a leading cashew processing hub. The province is home to nearly 2,800 enterprises, as well as numerous purchasing, preliminary processing, and manufacturing facilities operating in the industry.

Many Vietnam’s cashew enterprises in the region have boldly invested in modern production lines to develop deep-processed products. This contributes to enhancing the value and competitiveness of Vietnamese cashew nuts in the international market.

Thanks to favorable climate and soil conditions, cashew nuts from this area are highly regarded for their quality, distinctive flavor, and strong competitiveness in export markets.

However, the cashew industry still faces several challenges. These include fluctuations in raw material prices, a relatively low share of deep-processed products, and a lack of strong international brands capable of making a global impact.
